Let The Children Play

When I was growing up as an only child, I entertained myself for hours on end.  I would play in a world of my own, without any sort of aids, blissfully unaware of anything else.  Be it a stick or a stone, or running water of any kind.  Now, as a middle aged lady I often wonder why I never see kids playing as I once did.

On my property, the kids or even the young at heart, can immerse themselves in our natural bush setting, actually get dirty and play like we once did.  There is an abundance of natural bush, without anything dangerous to worry about.  Kids can spend hours in our bamboo forest, become a hunter gatherer, or whatever their little minds can conjure up.  They can even make their own raft or fishing line.  Best of all we want to build a small dam on our river frontage, and we need some help.  The only requirements are some little hands, some old clothes and a pair of boots!

So if your son (or daughter) would like to connect to nature, bring them to Iris Retreat for a taste of how life used to be when we were young.
